(They/she)

Counselor & Art Therapist
I've received training as an art educator with a Drawing Minor at Kendall College of Art & Design (2013) & attended Wayne State University (2021) for my training as a Counselor & Art Therapist. For me, pursuing this career path felt like a natural way to integrate my love of art with my passion for helping others grow in their personal lives.
My philosophy is that we all have the keys to our own healing, but through the challenges of our lives & circumstances, those keys can become lost & we might need help finding them again. Every key & lock is unique, as well as the journey to figure out how to best work with the keys & locks we have in our lives.
You don't need to identify as an artist or have any special talents or abilities to benefit from art therapy. Art therapy can be seen as a way to explore our challenges & dreams from a visual perspective. It isn't necessarily about creating the perfect artwork that we plan to display or show to others.
The process of art therapy is often more important than the product. This connects deeply to my own mindset towards creating art. I try to stay connected to the process of creating, using mindfulness to stay in the moment & see each piece as I create as an experiment where I am not attached to a specific outcome.
